Fall Mini Sessions

November 10th, 2024

PRAIRIE LAKES PARK | CEDAR FALLS, IOWA

Mini sessions were scheduled originally for November 3rd, but when the weekend approached, it decided to rain for three days, making our Sunday minis cold, rainy, and not ideal. So, we rescheduled for a week later on Sunday the 10th! Prairie Lakes park is a great place for mini sessions because you can get so much variety in your images in a short amount of time. The ONLY thing I was bummed about what that on the original day we were supposed to have mini sessions, the trees were full of beautiful orange and red leaves, and it was the epitome of FALL. One week later, and the leaves were gone, and it looked like winter.

GUESS WHAT? THAT WON'T STOP BE BECAUSE I AM UP TO A CHALLENGE.
We still had lots of great fall colors. It was really windy and cloudy, but I kept assuring everyone they're going to look like models with the wind blowing their hair around and the clouds will give our pictures the drama we need. I think the day turned out really well!

I say this with every photo session, but my mini sessions this fall are my favorite so far! I love the colors, the smiles, and the energy from everyone. I'm also so thankful my families that joined me for minis trusted me. I can't tell you how many times I would tell them, "This will look really cute, I promise!" and they would just say, "We aren't worried!"

It helps to have a variety of great spots to get amazing family portraits in just fifteen minutes, as well.

If you need a family photographer in Cedar Falls, I am your gal! Send me a message to book.
