Solstice Florals
Solstice Florals! What a cool project to work on.
My client loves the stars, sun, moon, and a new start, new adventure, a new morning to start the day! How do we capture this in her brand for her dark + light floral shop?
I began with a moodboard. My feeling was headed towards bright, sunny, and very ethereal. I was really interested in colors like purple, yellow, blue, violet, and orange. The combination of an orangey-yellow and a blueish-purple would compliment each other nicely. My client loved this.
Logo
My client wanted the vibe of her brand to reflect the mood and feeling she wanted customers to have when they visited her shop. She loves pretty florals, but she is also obsessed with the dark, broody bouquets. Where else could you combine bright yellow tulips, with black roses and purple floral accents? At Solstice Florals.
Signage
Solstice Florals, with a combination of light and shadows, wanted the perfect sign behind their check out counter. I asked my client what lighting situation they have in their physical store. She told me, "We want to have "mood lighting." We will have large windows in the front of the shop that will give us natural light, but the fluorescents on the ceiling will never be turned on! I would love a sign that lights up."
NEON! The bells were ringing in my head. I asked if she would have a textured wall, including any florals, leaves, or brick. She mentioned having brick on the inside of her shop, but wanting a leafy background in the future. I presented this mock up - a neon sign with her brand colors that will reflect these awesome colors against any wall she places it on.
Instant fall-in-love situation.
